About Me
I am a PHP backend and platform engineer with more than 15 years of experience.
I build and maintain PHP web applications and production platforms. My work includes API design, application development, deployment, security, testing, and observability. I focus on maintainable systems and reliable releases.
I am based in Smiltene, Latvia. I am a Latvian citizen and authorized to work in Latvia.

Early work included PSD-to-HTML and Flash banners. Later work covered WordPress and WooCommerce themes. I also worked on Magento 2 architecture, PWA frontends, and Drupal on Kubernetes.
Professional Project Work:
I built and maintained Magento 2 stores with Hyvä and Venta themes. Those projects used Docker, AWS, and Jenkins. I worked on PWA Studio frontends with React and TypeScript. I also worked on Drupal sites with PostgreSQL on Kubernetes.
Much of my career was full-stack. That included custom WordPress themes with ACF, WooCommerce and Shopify stores, and custom PHP on CodeIgniter and Laravel-based CMSs. I started in front-end work: PSD-to-HTML, Flash and HTML5 ad banners, jQuery plugins, and ActionScript.
I have also used Python for work automation and application development with Flask and FastAPI.
What I do for fun:
Outside work, I develop games as a hobby. I experiment with different programming languages and game development tools.
I also study tools that interest me: C++, Odin, COBOL, Zig, FreeBasic, and Blender 3D. I do this to learn how systems work, not for a specific project.
